It's like beating a dead horse.
Teeheehee... Funny blog title. A co-worker said it to me the other day and I just about died from laughing so hard. She was commenting on how boys are stupid. And she wasn't really talking about book smarts either. *evil grin*
Oooh another friend of mine also called over the weekend to tell me that a friend of hers, who I met a couple of weeks ago and I shall call him ____ for now, asked for my phone number. She said she thinks he likes me. *blush* I know, I know. It's silly and trivial but in truth, it's pretty flattering. And yes, I find _____ very cute. He's a pretty good dancer too, actually. We'll see what happens.
I had an audition last Saturday for "Fiddler on the Roof". Yeeeah...
I decided to change my audition song at the last minute and as a result, completely forgot half of the lyrics. It was the worst! I have never been so nervous for an audition before. The good news is that the casting panel knew me already from "Cinderella" last year, so I wasn't completely embarrassed. Plus, the parts I did know sounded pretty good. The bad news is I doubt I'll be getting cast in the show after that fiasco. Hehehe... ah well. Bygones. I took a chance on a song I didn't know very well, but I love, and so, no regrets. (Editor's note: The song I sang was 'Cabaret' from the musical of the same title. Looove it!)
Speaking of songs I love, check out my Video of the Month below!!
I've also recently had an epiphany. The rest of this year will be my preparation year. I'm preparing myself to go back to school next year and also preparing myself to quit my job. (Gaaaah!) I'm going to spend the next couple of weeks trying to get into a good school, somewhere I don't mind shelling out the big bucks for y'know? And take a wild guess what I'm going into... Thaaaat's right! Theatre, dah-ling. I figure it might not be considered a "white-collar" career, but to hell with everyone's preconceptions or preconceived notions about it. I'm going to find out for myself. Besides, I've been performing for the past couple of years already. It's been an on-going debate with me, myself and I about whether I should be taking this "acting bug" seriously. Going to school to study the art is just the next step towards that. I'm going to take a chance and make the leap. Even if I fall on my fabulously flat butt. Carpe diem!
Seize the day. Make your lives extraordinary! I plan on doing just that.
P.S. HAPPY BERDAY WISHES TO MY BROTHER JAY and to JAMILA!!
