Don't You Just Hate It When...
....you have about 90 good-looking males between the ages of 19 and 30 in one room all gawk at you while you're working? Thank God I wore a cute outfit today.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!
So I know this is a little late but HAPPY CANADA DAY! Hehehe... I was out of town for the long weekend and I wasn't able to blog at the appropriate time. I hope all my Canuck friends out there enjoyed the birth of Canada in true Canadian fashion... by drinking beer! And lots of it too! :)
Aaaanyhoo, where did I go, you ask? Princeton/Hedley, B.C. Why? Camping. Woot! I had such a good time over there! And yes, I actually "roughed it". None of this I'm-camping-but-really-staying-in-a-cabin-with-running-water-a-shower-and-a-flushing-toilet s***. We went to a campsite called 'Stemwinder' and this place only had two, count 'em, TWO out-houses. And a river. *blank stare* I know, I know. Crazy, eh? When I first found this out, I said, "No way! I'm not going. End of discussion." I mean, reeeeally, me?! Of all people. Roughing it out in the wilderness. Yeeesh!
Now what made me change my mind? Well, I'm not really sure about that. I think I was feeling a little adventurous. I wanted to be away for Canada Day and my mom had already given me permission to borrow her minivan for the weekend. In the end though, I think it was Meta's tricksey guilt trip that set us on the road on Saturday morning. I'm so glad that she convinced me to go cos I ended up having a blast!
Once we got our (temporary) maple leaf tattoos slapped on, we spent our Canada Day swimming in the cold river, drinking cold beers and bbq'ing up some good ol' beef hot dogs. At night, we danced the night away to some reggae music and the Gypsy Kings until we were all too drunk to even remember where we were. Hahahahah!
On Sunday, we got to visit the town of Keremeos. It is such a small town. Not as small as Tofino though. I found this gorgeous framed poster of Marilyn Monroe at one of the vintage shops there. I was thisclose to buying it, but it was $75.00 and I didn't have that kind of cash on me. If I can't shake it out of my head, I just might go back for it though. Teeheeheehee. When we got back to the campsite, it was sooo hot that we decided to take another dip in the river. By then, the rest of the gang got back from tubing so they lent us their little rafts and tubes and we got to go for a ride along the river. It was THE best part of the whole trip. That night, we took it easy and chilled around the campfire. The stars out there are beautiful! Seeing sooo many stars in the night sky again definitely made the trip worthwhile. I saw two "shooting stars" too. WooOoOOOo!
All in all, it was a fabulous weekend! Again, I'm glad I went and I can't wait for Labour Day weekend cos we've planned another camping adventure already. I think this time we're spending it in Tofino. Gooood times ahead! And who knows, maybe I'll actually learn how to surf properly this time. Hahahaaha...
Keep on truckin'!
UPDATE:
I saw 'Superman Returns' on IMAX 3D with Cat and Jase (07.06.06) and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a pretty good movie overall and Brandon Routh IS ONE FOINE, GORGEOUS GENTLEMAN! *blush* I have to admit, Cat and I argued about him before I saw the movie because at the time, I didn't find him very good-looking and she did. I think I even called him the "ugliest Superman ever." *gasp* I hang my head in shame and retract that statement now. He did a pretty fabulous job in the movie and yes, he's extremely handsome. *le sigh* Kevin Spacey and Parker Posey were hilarious in the movie as well! Go check it out, if you get a chance. ;)
