Endorphins, baby.

This weekend was chock-a-block FULL of good vibes. Hehehe...

On Friday night, I headed out to Caprice for a little bit of night dancing with my friend Jen, from work. It was fabulous! Her friends are hilarious and I had such a good time with them that night. I wore a cute, (low-cut!) red dress with some knee-high black boots. They kept calling me "Lady in Red". Hahaha... The sad part was that I had to leave early cos I had to transit home. It was all good though cos I ended up meeting with Cat who, thank God, was still awake at 1:00am. We had a late-night sesh at good ol' Denny's. Muuuhaahahaha!

The next day, I got to sleep in until about 12:30pm. Oooh yeeeahh.... I got ready for work because I had to be in at 2:00pm. Or so I thought. When I got there, it turns out they had double booked me with another one of my co-workers. And since she had started an hour earlier, they decided to keep her on instead. Sucks ass-mar! I totally lost out on the hours. When I called Mae and told her about it, she just laughed at me and called me a workaholic. Pssssh... whatever, Mae! :P

In the end, it was good that I didn't work though because I was able to go for dinner with Meta and her family. It was Aunty Elisa's berfday and we went to Sammy J. Peppers to celebrate. It was pretty brutal though because our reservation was for 6:00pm, but we didn't get seated until 6:40pm. Yeesh! The service was pretty slow too. I would've cooked up a storm if our waiter hadn't turned out to be über good-looking. And he wasn't a jackass to us. Plus, if I hadn't gone to the dinner, I would've never met Meta's gorgeous new co-worker. He is soooo cute! And he's funny too. Call me for details...hahaha.

After dinner, I was supposed to head out to Shine with Sheen and Jess but Meta started having trouble breathing so we took her home. When we got to her house, she suddenly had an anxiety attack so her mom called the ambulance. Firefighters came first and daaaaamn were they hott! Of course, my only concern then was Meta so don't go thinking that I tried hitting on them or anything. (I didn't, honest!) The paramedics came in soon after and we took her to Burnaby Hospital. I got to ride shotgun in the ambulance. Woot! I was at the hospital until about 1:00am and then my brother came to pick me up. By the time I left, Meta had calmed down and they had just taken an x-ray of her chest. She was resting with her mom and Liv there. (Update: Meta's fine now. We're still not sure what set things off, but I think she's having some more tests done. Praying for her full recovery....)

A few weeks ago, a friend had asked me to assistant direct their short indie film, so on Sunday was the day of the shoot. Our call-time was 10:00am which wasn't so bad. We were filming on Granville Island at The Backstage Lounge. The whole thing went pretty smoothly and I got to meet some very nice people. Trust me, that's ve-ry rare when you're working in films. We were on time for everything and we got all the shots done at the times that we had scheduled them. (Thanks to me. Boo-yah!) All in all, I had fun and I got to know some of the tricks of the trade. We ended up wrapping a whole 2 hours earlier than what we had planned. After the shoot, we had some pizza and a sort of mini-wrap-party at the lounge. After all that hard work, we headed home for the night. I would definitely work with all of those people again in a heartbeat. I'll post pics from the shoot as soon as I can.

To top it all off, I woke up this morning feeling great because I'm still on a high from all of this weekend's festivities. No Monday blues for me today!

And I know that it's not the end of November yet but I thought I'd change my Video of the Month for the next few weeks. It's an oldie, but a goodie, so check it out. *wink*

40th Blog Celebration!!!

That's right, folks. I've reached a milestone in this gi-normous, wide world of the web. It's official: this is my 40th blog! So, now I must write something intelligent and witty to make this reading material "worthwhile". Let's see...

I'm 22 years old now. And I've only just realised that to be afraid of doing something, ANYTHING, just because you're scared of falling flat on your face is fruitless. If you trip in this crazy fashion runway called Life, you just have to pick yourself up again and keep strutting your stuff like the supermodel that you are. (If anybody saw that Sex & The City episode, it was awesome!) In the end, what matters is that you tried. That you put yourself out there. Nobody can take that away from you.

As for my own fashion runway, I'm going to keep strutting my stuff all the way to theatre school. And I have to start by getting two reference letters from a couple of directors that I've worked with in the past. Gaahhh! It should be easy as one, two, three... right? Well, not exactly. One thing I've learned in the theatre world is that it is never that easy to get a hold of people or get together with them when you want to. Not the greatest thing, but I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. *le sigh* I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, I'm going to keep plugging away at Philosophy. I also have to start thinking about what to take next semester. So many decisions... But you know something? I love it!

Do not be afraid that your life will end; Be afraid that it will never begin.
