Summer's Over....NOOoooOOoOO!!
Yes, summer is indeed done for 2006. *le sigh* Now it's back to crunch time, both at work and school. That's right! I'm back in school at Dougie Daycare. I'm only taking one course though. It's called Philosophy 1102: Values & Contemporary Issues. I know, it sounds worse than it really is. Actually, I must say, if the first class is any indication of what's in store for the rest of the term, then it's going to be a good one. Woot! My professor's hilarious and the folks in the class are not pretentious at all, which is good, I guess, if you're going to be taking a course on Philosophy.
As for this weekend, I'm officially finished my stint as house-sitter for my boss. It was definitely one of those things I would classify as a "learning experience". I learned that when put to the test, I can be an extremely good cook. I also learned a few cute Japanese phrases from my new friend, Aya (who I house-sat with). She's studying English here in Vancouver until November so we took turns teaching each other our own languages. (I taught her both English and Tagalog!)
I plan on taking her and her Japanese friends out on Friday night to experience the Vancouver nightlife, too. (Not that there is much but hey, at least they'll have fun seeing Canadians do their 'thang' and I'll have fun poking fun at all the people who think they're such barstars. Muuuhaahahaha!)
And then on Saturday, we're going on a mini roadtrip down to the U.S. of A. to do some shopping. Yes! You gotta love all those outlet malls down there. Sooo cheeeeap. Metcha metcha! Teeheehee...
Anyway, all in all, this summer has definitely been a blast! When I look back on Summer '06, I'd have to admit that it was by far, the second best summer I've had in all of my 22 years. (We went to Disneyland in '05, so you can't really beat that, but it does come superclose.) This is also the summer that I discovered a band called OK Go. They are fabulous! Check out one of their videos below in my "Video of the Month" feature.
And remember, in the immortal words of The Foo Fighters, "It's times like these you learn to live again."
Peace and love, cool cats.
