How do you like THEM apples?!?!?
Ooooh yeah baby, who's an official Library Assistant now?! ME!! WOoOOOooOOooOO!! My co-worker Rina came into the office after her lunch and said, "Joy, Manju (HR Assistant) told me to tell you to call her. I think it's good news!" Teeheehee... So I call and Manju says, "Congratulations Joy! I'd like to offer you the position of being a Library Assistant Level I." Of course, I accepted it. Hehehe... I have two training days next week on March 07 and 08, 2006. Full days! I'm sooo excited (and I just can't hide it).
Anyhoo, my other co-worker, Polly, and I are heading out for dinner and then we're going to watch Titus Andronicus over at the Jericho Arts Centre. Goooood times ahead! I'll update later on how the play went. It's supposed to be reeeally gory. For a stage play, we shall see. Heeh...
UPDATE on TITUS ANDRONICUS: The play was awesome! I actually understood the entire play. Usually with Shakespearean plays, I'm sitting there going, "What the heck is going on? I know that word but I've never heard it used that way before." Stuff like that, hehe... But with this play, I actually knew what they were saying and why they were saying it. It was great! I think a lot of it had to do with the great interpretations of the cast too. My favourite line of the night was,
"Here stands the spring whom you have stain'd with mud,
This goodly summer with your winter mix'd."
Talk about some powerful shtuff! Titus was pissed cos his daughter Lavinia was raped and had her tongue and hands cut off. He said this line to her offenders. The imagery in it is so clear that it makes the line that much more packed with intensity. To be honest, I would've never thought of comparing someone being raped to the seasons or to a spring of water. I guess that's why William Shakespeare is "the grand literary figure of the Western world." (www.who2.com) Anyway, if you guys get a chance, go see Titus Andronicus at the Jericho Arts Centre from now until March 18, 2006. (Tidbit: On Sundays, it's pay-what-you-can!)
