MonkeyBar

So last weekend, a few of us decided to check out the band MonkeyBar at The King's Head Pub. Why? It turns out, one half of the band is none other than our high school teacher Steve Grout. The night was über awesome! It was fun watching them play and listening to them croon songs from Jack Johnson to The Beatles to stuff Steve even wrote himself! Here are some pics from that evening for your viewing pleasure:

Gooo Celtics!
All in all, it was a fabulous evening. I got to see some old friends and make some new ones too! Anyway, that's it for now. I leave for California tomorrow and I have yet to finish packing. (Procrastinate, procrastinate, procrastinate.) I'll blog about my trip when I get back next week and post some new pictures as well.

Ciao for now!

UPDATE: I have an audition scheduled for Fiddler on the Roof next month. Finally! Let's hope I break both my legs...hahahaha. :)

A Song For Mama

You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I'll always keep it inside
You're the driving force in my life

There isn't anything
Or anyone that I could be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side

You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
You will always be
You will always be the girl in my life for all times

Mama, mama you know I love you
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars (yes it is)
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Yes it is, yes it is (ooh), yes it is, yes it is, yes it is

You're always down for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong (yes you did)
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on

There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you'd come to me
And say to me I could face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl in my life

Mama, mama you know I love you
you know i love you
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars (yes it is)
Mama, I just want you to know
Mama i just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul

Never gonna go a day without you
Fills me up just thinking about you
Could never go a day without my Mama

Mama you know I love you
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Ooh, yeah yeah
You are the food to my soul
Yes you are

I LOVE YOU MUM! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MUMS IN THE WORLD!

Newly Coiffed

I finally chopped off all of my hair! My hair was almost down to my waist. And now, it's just above my shoulders. It feels so refreshing and light, let me tell ya. I also got it coloured a warm brown and then put some soft caramel highlights in it. I LOVE IT! Here's what I look like now:

The exciting thing about getting a haircut is figuring out how to style and wear it afterwards. I've been trying all sorts of different things on my 'do that I couldn't do with long hair. Now that I've got shorter hair, I've got more volume too. It's great! :)

Alright, enough about my hair. In other news, I've got a reeeally nasty cold. Runny nose, sore throat, dry cough, the whoooole kit and caboodle. I just hope I'm better by the time I have to leave for California next week. I just need some Rest and Relaxation today. I've been working waaaay too much.

That being said, today's my day off. Yes! I totally wasn't expecting it but since I'm sick, my supervisor didn't mind. In fact, she insisted that I take the day off so that I could get better. I plan on spending it in bed, watching movies all day. I haven't been able to do that in a loooooooong time. Hehehehe.... Afterwards, I'm seeing some friends this evening for a night of frivolous frolicking. WooOoOooo! (I probably shouldn't but hey, you're only young once, right?)

Anyway, I'm off to watch my huge pile of movies. Cheerios! ;)

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

For six (6) months, I lasted without having....a mobile. To be honest, it felt very liberating. People couldn't get a hold of me and it was great! Muuuhaahahaha!

I realized, however, that not having a mobile phone nowadays keeps you out of the loop. And while I don't mind it sometimes, it's kind of nice to know when things are happening so you can at least pretend like you have a social life.

And so, I give you my new phone (above, right). It's actually quite nice and I got a pretty good corporate deal cos of where I work. I'm definitely not looking forward to the monthly payments, but it must be done. *le sigh* Here's hoping that I'm making a good investment.

As for work, it's been crazy-busy! I'm working seven (7) days a week so I haven't really been able to enjoy the sunshine much. Although, yesterday, Cat and I were able to go shopping along Robson. Afterwards, we headed to Surrey to have dinner with Mae. It was an ab-fab evening!

Tomorrow, I'm going to see Seussical: The Musical over at the Evergreen Cultural Centre and then go dancing afterwards. Yeeeeeah!

I do hope this weather lasts. It's just absolutely gorgeous today. I'm off to spend my lunch on the rooftop of our building. Today is definitely the perfect day for it.

Keep on truckin'!
